VIII Anavepor Congress in A Coruña has been an event in which we have had the opportunity to meet with colleagues and customers of the pork sector.

On November 22 and 23, the National Association of Swine Veterinarians (ANAVEPOR) successfully hosted its eighth congress in the beautiful city of A Coruña. This event, recognized in the scientific-technical field, brought together prominent professionals from the swine industry to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Under the organization of the Swine Veterinarians Association of Galicia (AGAVEPOR), the congress saw active participation from researchers at universities and R&D departments of companies linked to the swine sector. The participation format included oral communications and panels, providing a conducive space for discussion and analysis of the most recent advances in the field.

AGAVEPOR took on the honor and responsibility of organizing ANAVEPOR's biennial congress in 2023. Additionally, they had the backing and support of member associations of ANAVEPOR, such as the Swine Veterinarians Association of Aragon (AVPA), Catalonia (AVPC), Murcia (AVEPOMUR), Castilla y León (AVEPORCYL), and the National Association of Iberian Swine Veterinarians (ANVEPI).

The congress program featured a satellite day presenting innovations and work by commercial entities, followed by practical workshops on current topics. The second day included simultaneous sessions focused on facilities, health, genetics, reproduction, and nutrition. The event concluded with contests for clinical cases, photography, and the presentation of communications.

Previous editions of the congress held in cities like Zaragoza, Lleida, Córdoba, and Valladolid were acclaimed for their massive participation, averaging 500-600 attendees, and the exceptional quality of the presentations.

The eighth ANAVEPOR Congress was a notable milestone in the swine industry calendar, solidifying Spain's position as a leader in the research and development of this sector.
