Indications for use
Neostigmine is an anticholinesterase drug. It binds to some points of the
cholinesterase enzyme molecule and prevents its reaction on acetylcholine.
On the digestive tract produces the contraction of the smooth muscle of the
intestine, increasing peristalsis (10-30 minutes after parenteral administration)
and its secretions.
On the respiratory system produces contraction of bronchial smooth muscle,
increases ciliary activity and bronchial secretions.
On the urinary system produces contraction of the smooth muscle of the
bladder.
On the skeletal muscle has an anticurare effect.

Ruminal atony

Posology and administration via
Subcutaneous or intramuscular.
In all species 0.022 mg / kg b.w. of neostigmine methylsulfate (equivalent to
0.15 ml / 10 kg b.w.).
