Administer intramuscularly.

Female dogs

2.5 mg of medroxyprogesterone acetate per kg body weight, equivalent to 0.05 ml of CENAVUL per kg body weight, during the anestrous phase of the oestrous cycle. To continue inhibiting the cycle, repeat the dose after 5–6 months.

Cenavul is contraindicated in the following cases:
-Animals that have shown hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
-During the pro-oestrus, oestrus or meta-oestrus phases of the oestrous cycle.
-In bitches and queens before or during their first oestrus cycle.
-Pregnant females or those with pseudopregnancy.
-Any abnormality of the reproductive system (abnormal vaginal discharge or bleeding, pyometra, mammary tumours or enlargement of the mammary glands, etc.)
-Endocrine disorders, particularly in cases of diabetes mellitus.

Special precautions for use Special precautions for use in animals:
If breast enlargement or lactation occurs, the product should not be used again in these animals. Animals treated with MPA that are subjected to trauma, injury or stress of any kind may respond inadequately to stress; they should therefore be given an additional dose of glucocorticoids as supportive treatment. It is recommended not to administer treatment for longer than 18 months (three injections) without interruption. Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the medicine to animals: Pregnant women should avoid contact with this medicine. Use disposable gloves when administering to avoid contact with the contents. In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. In the event of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice and show the package leaflet.
