Indications for use
Horses
- Relief of inflammation and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders.
- Symptomatic treatment of visceral pain associated with colic. Post-operative pain and inflammation.
Cattle
- Anti-inflammatory and analgesic treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
- Reduces pyrexia and distress associated with bacterial respiratory diseases when used in conjunction with antimicrobial therapy, if appropriate.
- Reduces mammary oedema.
- Anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic treatment in acute clinical mastitis, in conjunction with antimicrobial therapy.
Swine
- Reduction of pyrexia in respiratory diseases.
- Symptomatic treatment of Postpartum Dysgalactia Syndrome, Metritis Mastitis Agalactia Syndrome.
Posology and administration via
Horses
Intravenous injection.
- For the treatment of musculoskeletal system and osteoarticular ailments, the dosage is 2.2 mg of ketoprofen per kg and day, i.e. 1 ml/45 kg b.w. for 3 to 5 consecutive days.
- For the symptomatic treatment of colic, the dosage is 2.2 mg of ketoprofen per kg, 1 ml of product/45 kg b.w., in a single injection.
Generally a single injection is sufficient: any additional injection should be preceded by a clinical re-assessment of the animal.
Bovine
Intramuscular or intravenous injection.
3 mg ketoprofen/kg body weight, equivalent to 1 ml of veterinary medicine/33 kg b.w., once daily for a maximum period of 1 to 3 days.
Porcine
Intramuscular injection.
3 mg/kg b.w., equivalent to 1 ml of veterinary medicine/33 kg b.w., in a single dose.
Withdrawal periods
Horses
Meat: 4 days.
Milk: zero hours.
Cattle
Meat: 4 days.
Milk: zero hours.
Pigs
Meat: 4 days.
